Shelley Bredin-Oja

Dr. Shelley Bredin-Oja joined the Minot State University faculty in Fall, 2021. Dr. Bredin-Oja earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders at Minot State University in 1990. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at Washington State University in 1992 and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Kansas in 2012. Dr. Bredin-Oja is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and worked in the public schools and Part C Early Intervention programs before beginning her doctoral program. Prior to returning to Minot State University, this time as a faculty member, Dr. Bredin-Oja worked at the University of Kansas as an Associate Researcher in the Language Intervention Lab and the Fragile X Syndrome Research Lab. Her areas of interest include efficacy and effectiveness of early language intervention, syntactic development from childhood to adolescence, and families affected by fragile X syndrome. Dr. Bredin-Oja has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and has presented at state, national, and international conferences
